It’s the oldest official bottling of cask strength, single-malt whisky the Glenkinchie distillery has ever released as well as the first matured entirely in European oak casks.Matured for 24 years in refill European oak butts, this is reportedly the oldest cask strength Glenkinchie to have hit the market. According to bloggers who’ve tasted the 2016 Special Releases, it’s been a consistent (and unexpected) crowd favourite which “stood out against the pack”.
