Spruce-Pine-Fir, Kiln Dried, No. 2 grade lumber. Often described as a 10 ft, 8 x 8 (nominal sizing), this product typically measures 7-1/4 in thick by 7-1/4 in wide. Appearance notes: Primed,Combed 1 Side.
- Spruce-Pine-Fir is a grouping of wood species that grows in both the northern regions of the U.S. and throughout Canada
- No. 2 grade lumber is used in all general construction; this grade is designed for the many uses where higher strength properties are not needed and where serviceability is important; few defects are permitted and knots of any quality are allowed as long as they are well spaced and do not exceed size regulations
- Kiln dried – moisture content of 19% or less
- The board has a textured surface on 1 side known as “combed” or “comb-faced”; it’s a decorative finish that simulates a linear grain to the wood; the suface is primed at the factory, ready to accept a finished coat of paint
