Description
As a sound introduction to the Oloroso matured genre, this is hard to beat. The sherry character comes through in high definition – especially on the palate with intense flavours of walnut and date cake, mixed nuts and dried fruits while tangy Seville orange and vibrant spices lift the finish. Cocoa, salted hazelnuts, new leather and drying astringency follow in the aftertaste. It could be better integrated, but it fares well against many more expensive Scottish equivalents. High ABV and zero chill filtration is an added bonus. ABV 48%
